How to fight Lower back pain during UPSC Preparation?
-
Anyone who suffered from it......m having hell lot of stiffness and lower back pain from last 4-5 days , started doing few back exercises but dun know how many days it will take to get rid of it ....anyone who had gone through similar situation please suggest
-
@Jalal Because of long sitting hours and sometimes wrong sitting & sleeping position lead to lower back pain!
I regularly stretch (tadasana) for only 20 seconds in every break (1 hour-break-1 hour)! I cured my back pain by sleeping straight, it was tough but I did it!
It will take less time, if you improve your sitting position as well, add more cushion!
Also tell your body to heal it! Our body listen to us! -
@Jalal I have a quick fix for you. Buy a gel based heat/cold pack with strap. Easily available on amazon or local pharmacy. Use it on heat mode. It eases the pain a great deal and you can move around, sit with the pack. If the sharp shooting pain persists, go see a doc. stretching regularly will prevent the stiffness.

@Jalal ohh man...just start abdomen and back strengthening exercises asap...no if no buts...make exercises as part of your study process... I had to end up having a surgery 15 days back...

I face the same issue every now and then. Whenever I struggle with the lower back pain I do the following things and it gets cured in two days.
- Sleep in Savasana without a pillow. In case you sleep in side posture, keep a pillow between your legs.
- Do bending forward and bending backward exercise once in a day. Doing it in as less as 6 each in number will prove magical.
- Try to sit with straight backbone whenever you realize you are sitting in the wrong posture. It will become a habit in a few days.

@Jalal every morning get up , sit straight, drink 2 glasses of water , stretch , twist and do Surya namaskar , it's the best exercise u can do avoid any kind of spinal problems.
Make it a habit , u will also feel very energetic throughout the day,
Everything else others have already suggested

Surya Namaskar is not prescribed for the back pain sufferers and with spondylitis and spine problems, It further aggravates.

You need proper resting and use medical /herbal patches such as Viopatch that can give you quick and longterm relief.
