Prelims 2019 - Post Test Discussion
@hirockyrocks7101 what about temporary workers...Is it A or C??
@DVM it should be A but UPSC will take C
@coutinho123 Let's hope UPSC should go with A as it is the most appropriate answer not C.....But my gut feeling is saying that UPSC have deliberately put statement 2 to confuse the aspirants because everyone will think(especially guess master) there will not be any ban to sack temp workers only those who have read about this amendment will be able to make out the discrepancy in statement. Statement is point blank on removing without any caveats. Let's hope UPSC should not do injustice to those who have read the amendment and marked A as answer.
@Minato could be only 3.
@drvijayjaipur06574 state legislature C ke liye do you have any source/ articles.. if there can u share link.. just to check.. thanks in advanxe
@pushkarchy-9327035 looking at the questions set this time...we can see many acts and rules being asked and that too being specific clauses---caf,campa,patents act,swm rules,e waste rules,ramsar even for fixed term employment rules and digital signature(IT act 2000 differentiates ds and dsc) so i think this time UPSC is going to be specific/technical for rules/acts and not general answers
@pushkarchy-9327035 yes could be but many who have worked in this field are saying all 3.
@Minato working in the field doesnt mean they know everything...be it the basic level thing or advanced
@quantum thanks s lot..
@Bangu does it means, zamindars holding rights of lands depends on their efficacy in maintaining law and order in villages...so it seems zamindars revenue rights are not hereditary, so only 2nd option is correct...as per the above screenshot..it is not both wrong as many keys say..
@vikramreddy2k9940 what's the consensus on zamindar question?
@vikramreddy2k9940 no consenus....byju/baliyan/shubr aranjan/gs score - A.....rest D....its upto upsc to decide
With reference to the recent developments in science, which one of the following statements is not correct?
(a) Functional chromosomes can be created by joining segments of DNA taken from cells of different species.
(b) Pieces of artificial functional DNA can be created in Iaboratories.
(c) A piece of DNA taken out from an animal cell can be made to replicate outside a living cell in a laboratory.
(d) Cells taken out from plants and animals can be made to undergo cell division in laboratory petri dishes.
This question should be cancelled. All four option r correct..
A statement is absolutely correct..basis of biotechnology...eg bt Cotten developed by this method
C is correct..basis of forensic lab...pcr technology
D is correct..basis of pathological labs..cell culture
B seems correct if artificial DNA synthesis or artificial gene synthesis is the meaning of the b statement
artificial DNA what is the meaning of it??..
1 is it DNA that synthesised artificially (DNA synthesised technique like reverse replication from rna) ??...if that is meaning.. this is occurring at commercial level at present.
2 is it DNA that created artificially from scratch....( DNA made from non living things, created in laboratory ?.? It that is meaning ...then it may be wrong because still scientists not able to create artificial functional DNA in lab from scratch. https://www.livescience.com/64829-hachimoji-dna.html
http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/d-brief/2019/02/21/scientists-doubled-the-genetic-alphabet/#.XQCiX7LhWf0 please aspirate from science backgrounds specially biotechnology, bio engineering help ??....what the the exact meaning of artificial DNA has taken in B statement ? ?????....DNA created ??
The following actions will be taken:
a) Set up a legally enforceable regulatory mechanism for identified valuable wetlands, to prevent their
degradation and enhance their conservation. Develop a national inventory of such wetlands.
b) Formulate conservation and prudent use strategies for each significant catalogued wetland, with participation
of local communities, and other relevant stakeholders.
c) Formulate and implement eco-tourism strategies for identified wetlands through multistakeholder
partnerships involving public agencies, local communities, and investors.
d) Take explicit account of impacts on wetlands of significant development projects during the environmental
appraisal of such projects; in particular, the reduction in economic value of wetland environmental services
should be explicitly factored into cost-benefit analyses.
e) Consider particular unique wetlands as entities with “Incomparable Values”, in developing strategies for their
f) Integrate wetland conservation, including conservation of village ponds and tanks, into sectoral development
plans for poverty alleviation and livelihood improvement, and link efforts for conservation and sustainable
use of wetlands with the ongoing rural infrastructure development and employment generation programmes.
Promote traditional techniques and practices for conserving village ponds.
