Does job income and fathers income count in determining OBC Creamy Layer?
-
So I come under OBC NCL. Got a certificate too. This year will be my 2nd attempt.
Seeing the uncertainity of UPSC I am thinking of taking up a job. When I combine my income and my dad's income it goes just above 8 lakh limit for OBC NCL. Now I am worried I wont get OBC reservation because of this.
Should I take up the job?
What are your thoughts?
Will I get reservation?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks! -
Does income of individual is counted for determining NCL? AFAIK, only parent's income is considered. Someone please clarify.

OBC NCL does not take the individuals income into consideration. It is solely based on parents income

@galaxialmojo Income in case of OBC NCL is strictly about your father's/mother's income. Your personal income has nothing to do in here. Moreover, if your father/mother or both is/are a government servant (PSUs not included here) then 'salary' is not considered as income. In such a case income is considered as ' income other than salary, and agricultural income'. But in case of public sector undertakings and private enterprises 'income' constitutes of 'salary'. This has no logic as such, but that's how it is. Also other criteria include position at which your parents are working (like class I, class II etc).
